We’re told that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce received a record number of applicants from across the country this year, so making it to the Big 7 is a huge honor. The finalists were judged on four key areas—business strategy; staff training and motivation; customer service; and community involvement. Big congrats are in order of each of the other six DREAM BIG finalists too!
When our founder, Diana, learned that Scratch and Peck Feeds was chosen as the Northwest Region finalist, she said she was “grateful for the recognition, especially for the emphasis placed on our innovation in the animal feed industry.” Knowing where our food comes from is important to all of us at Scratch and Peck, so it’s wonderful to know that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce sees the value too.
As a regional finalist, we will be recognized at the awards luncheon on June 14 during America’s Small Business Summit in Washington, D.C. The winner of the Small Business of the Year will also be announced and presented with a $10,000 prize. We have our fingers crossed. If we win, the money will be put toward new machinery to further increase productivity and turnaround times. We’re always aiming to keep our growing customer base happy and stocked with quality feeds for their animals!
Thank you, all of our passionate customers. You keep us going in our mission of providing quality products, increasing sustainability, and improving the way our food is made, no matter if it’s for our animals or for ourselves.
