They keep the public informed on the treatment of animals at AWA farms so consumers can make wise choices of which farms they support. This label sets the standard for the humane treatment of animals by requiring the best farming practices. Backed up by the United States Department of Agriculture, the Animal Welfare Approved label is one that can be trusted by you.
AWA farmers are distinguished by their conscious decisions to help the environment and improve animal well-being. Being family owned and raising animals on pasture or range are two general requirements which must be met by AWA farms and businesses. We work closely with farmers of all kinds and therefore want to acknowledge those farmers who have become and maintain their Animal Welfare Approved accreditation. Although we are not directly responsible for the care of animals, we are closely tied with many who are.
