Product Description

Cluckin’ Good Oyster Shell provides additional calcium to increase egg shell strength for layers. Oyster shell is not a substitute for grit. Calcium is absorbed by chickens to build strong egg shells where grit stays in the gizzard to contribute to digesting whole grains and oyster shell.

Begin to offer Cluckin’ Good Oyster Shell to your hens when they are nearly laying, approximately at 18-20 weeks. Oyster Shell provides supplemental calcium to ensure strong egg shells. We suggest offering Cluckin’ Good Oyster Shell in any of the following ways; free choice in a separate dish or tossing on the ground in their coop area to encourage natural scratching behavior. The birds will self-regulate and take what they need.

Why should I supplement with Cluckin' Good Oyster Shell, isn't there enough calcium in layer feed?

Cluckin good oyster shell. My ladies love this oyster shell. They barely touched the lumpy oyster shell of other brands. I was so excited when I found this I searched for quite awhile. Then when I saw how they gobbled it up I was very happy and relieved. Thanks my ladies are happy and so am I.

My chickens love this oyster shell and the shape it is cut in (like chips or slivers) is better than any of the other brands. Please continue to make it!!

Scratch & Peck oyster shell is so different than other brands. Instead of the white chalky lumps, it’s actual pieces of grayish/silver crushed oyster shell. I do crush and feed back eggshells to my chickens, but I like to keep oyster shell in a dispenser for them as a back up. I love the quality.
